Anatomy and physiology (2021/2022)
The teaching is organized as follows:
Learning outcomes
The general anatomy module will address basic concepts, study techniques, anatomical terminology, dimensional levels; The main systems (cardiovascular, respiratory, digestive, urinary with hints on reproductive and endocrine) will be treated at the level usually adopted for the health professions (eg Nursing). The musculoskeletal system (bones, joints, muscles) and central and peripheral nervous systems will be discussed in greater detail.
The main purpose of the of the physiology module is to describe the functions of the skeletal-muscle system, the vascular system and nervous system both at the cellular and at the integrative level. The mechanisms underlying cellular excitability at the basis of bioelectric signals will be also analyzed in detail.
At the end of the course the student will have to demonstrate knowledge of the basics of the functioning of the human body and use this knowledge in the bioengineering field.
