The course aims to lead the student to:
- (knowledge and understanding) master basic concepts of economic theory, especially microeconomic analysis;
- (ability to apply) acquire the necessary tools to interpret daily events and economic dynamics at the national and international level.

The student must have a good knowledge of mathematics and statistics (high school level).

Didactic methods
The course comprises 66 hours of frontal lessons. The teacher uses slides and other material that will be made available to students on Moodle. The student is required to carry out the exercises proposed in class and read the material before each lesson to take part actively in the discussion in class.
Learning assessment procedures
The final exam comprises a written test including 3 open-ended questions to be answered in 60 minutes.
To pass the exam, students must demonstrate that they:
- have understood the principles and definitions underlying the functioning of the microeconomics;
- are able to communicate within the disciplinary field with precision and organicity and reflect on national and international economic news.
- know how to apply specific economic models to analyze complex problems presented in the form of exercises, questions, and projects.
Evaluation criteria
The exam verifies that the objectives of the course (knowledge, skills, and competencies) have been achieved.
