Learning objectives
1. NUTRITION AND ENDOCRINE AND METABOLIC DISEASES: to acquire knowledge(s) on the main endocrine and metabolic diseases and the principles of nutritional therapy, with articular reference to the prevention and treatment of type 1 or type 2 diabetes mellitus, dyslipidemias and obesity.
Lectures in the classroom on all the topics of the course and presentation of paradigmatic clinical cases.
Examination methods: assessment and learning methods (English): Written test, with 20 multiple choice questions (with 4 options for each question) to verify the overall degree of knowledge of the subject of this course;
2. NUTRITION AND RENAL DISEASES: the course will give the student an introduction on the relationship between renal diseases and nutrition. Both the patogenesis and patophysiology aspects and the nutritional treatment of kidney diseases will be covered. In particular, the principles of the nutritional treatment of uremia will be addressed.
Examination methods: the exam will consist in a multiple choice test to verify the overall degree of knowledge of the subject of this course;
3. NUTRIOTION AND GASTROENTEROLOGY: the module provides students the knowledge of physiology of digestion and absorption in the gastrointestinal tract, the bases of the pathophysiology of malabsorption in the most common pathologies of the digestive system and clinical conditions determining intestinal malabsorption, basics of nutrition related to clinical contexts, basics of artificial nutrition.
Examination methods: oral to verify the overall degree of knowledge of the subject of this course.
