Program
The Digital Lab in literature and philology offers students the opportunity to test themselves with digital tools for editing and analyzing literary texts. The teacher will offer in two meetings of 4 hours each (8 hours total, first meeting December 3, second meeting December 10) an initial theoretical contextualization of the digital tools used. Specifically, the first part focuses on the use of automatic transcription tools and XML-TEI markup of digital text; the second part on the analysis of literary texts networks with Gephi. At the end of the theoretical lessons, the student will be able to agree with the teacher on a topic based on specific interests (literature and/or philology), the type of document (a manuscript, a novel, a corpus of poems, a play) and the languages studied. With the support of a tutor, he/she will prepare a project work in which he/she will select and use one or more methodologies presented to answer a specific research question. The project work must be completed by January 31, 2025.
