Kursbeschreibung

Didactic methods
Classes with theoretical content and practical exercises. Attendance of the classes is highly recommended, most of all for the classes dedicated to the usage of the digital tools, (e.g., ANNIS), cf. the classes schedule on Moodle.
Learning assessment procedures
Learning assessment procedures
Students who regularly attend classes will get an evaluation of short exercises during classes. All students ("frequentanti" and "non frequentanti") will give a written final exam (120 minutes). The written exam, which consists of open questions and analyses of linguistic data/texts, assesses:
- knowledge of basic features of the of the German medieval cultural and literature and of the development of the resources related to them;
- knowledge of the typical linguistic features dealt with during classes and of language-change processes in phonology, morphology, syntax and lexicon;
- command of the three main digital tools: Wörterbuchnetz, Handschriftencensus, ANNIS search tool.
Exam duration: 2 hours.
Evaluation criteria
Extent of the demonstrated skills; clarity and (terminological) accuracy of the answers.
Criteria for the composition of the final grade
- Students who regularly attend classes: exercises during classes (30%), written exam (70% of final grade).
- Students who do not regularly attend classes ("Studenti non frequentanti"): written exam (100% of final grade).
