Learning objectives

The teaching is aimed at acquiring knowledge and understanding of the biology and systematics of drug-supplying plants used in traditional and official medicine, of the main taxa of herbal, medicinal, cosmetic interest, of the essential diagnostic characters for the identification of plant species, morphological identification of the drug and description of its origin.



Learning assessment procedures

The exam will be oral on the whole program.

Evaluation criteria

The student will have to demonstrate basic knowledge of the structure of cells, tissues and organs of the plant.

The student will have to show understanding of the concepts that allow the distinction of the main groups of plants.

The student will have to show knowledge of plants of pharmaceutical interest, their drugs and active ingredients.

The exam will evaluate the correctness of the answers, the ability of critical reasoning and the quality of the exposition.
