Learning objectives

The course is divided into three modules: Audiology, Internal Medicine and Clinical Pathology
UNDERSTAND AND ACQUIRE KNOWLEDGE OF
- the most relevant diseases of the various organisms and apparatuses from a nosological, epidemiological, aetiopathogenetic and clinical perspective, considering that the ear plays a sensor role in systemic pathology
- the scientific knowledge, methodology and theoretical-practical preparation indispensable for a proper approach to the patient
KNOWING AND BEING ABLE TO APPLY
- a clinical interpretation of the symptoms and signs of disease and of the diagnostic, laboratory and instrumental investigations and to the phase of diagnostic formulation and clinical decision-making process
- appropriate tools for obtaining a detailed anamnesis and gathering information on the objective findings, also interpreting the laboratory and instrumental findings of individual pathologies from a pathophysiological perspective
- clinical-diagnostic reasoning leading to the diagnosis.

Learning assessment procedures

AUDIOLOGY: written pre-selection test with a highly structured test (series of true or false) to be taken in 60 minutes and subsequent low-structured oral examination (questioning with open questions). Cannot be taken as an in itinere test
INTERNAL MEDICINE: highly structured written examination (questions with multiple-choice answers), 30 minutes
CLINICAL PATHOLOGY: highly structured written examination (questions with multiple-choice answers), 30 minutes available.
Final grade: weighted average of the last module taken

Students with disabilities or specific learning disorders (SLD), who intend to request the adaptation of the exam, must follow the instructions given HERE

Evaluation criteria

Ability to explain topics clearly and precisely, using specialist terminology and discursively organising knowledge while summarising the key elements of the topics covered. Critical reasoning and ability to elaborate parallelisms and comparisons between the various topics covered. Autonomous study of topics related to the topics addressed in the lessons
