Learning objectives

The course is organised into two modules. The first aims to provide skills on the main unmet diagnostic, prognostic and interventional needs (caregiving, nursing, pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapy) in neurological, neurodegenerative and geriatric diseases, and in the field of neurorehabilitation, with particular reference to motor and cognitive aspects, which can be addressed through the use of wearable devices and smart devices related to the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT). It also analyses the role of digital biomarkers obtained through IoMT devices in personalised medicine for diagnosis, prognosis and monitoring of pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions.
The second module aims to develop students' ability to discuss with healthcare professionals the potential applications of telemedicine based on IoMT systems in the neurological, neurorehabilitation and geriatric fields and to design telemedicine systems and remote control applications based on IoMT devices.
