This course aims to provide information on conformational disease, protein quality control system, chaperone,inherited disorders. In particular, students will gain familiarity with principles of protein misfolding; protein misfolding disease; medical aspects of disease: diagnosis and current therapies

Prerequisites and basic notions

No prior knowledge is required to follow the course

Program

Role of aberrant aggregation of the alpha-synuclein protein in Parkinson's disease; mechanisms of cellular control; Role of aberrant aggregation of the tau protein in Alzheimer's disease; Biophysical methodologies for the study of protein aggregation
