Course Description:
This course explores the intersection of economic principles and sustainability, providing students with a foundational understanding of market mechanisms, environmental economics, and the policy frameworks designed to address sustainability challenges. The course begins with an overview of basic microeconomic concepts, including supply and demand, market equilibrium, and price theory. It then examines the concept of externalities, exploring their impact on natural resources and the role of markets and governmental institutions in internalizing these externalities. This part of the course aims to equip students with the analytical tools necessary to understand and contribute to the development of effective legal and policy solutions for a sustainable future.

Course Description:
This course aims to provide students with the necessary skills to analyze, understand, and utilize key sources of information on circular economy and environmental sustainability. It will also examine the main public policy interventions that promote a circular economy. The course will conclude with an in-depth analysis of case studies, including a review of academic articles, to assess innovation and the impact of selected projects.

The exam is the same for both parts of the economics program and consists of a written exam with open-ended questions and exercises.
Evaluation criteria
