Learning objectives
he Laboratory aims to provide students in their final years of the Degree in Law with tools to improve their ability to convey legal concepts in an orderly, logical and comprehensible manner. The activity offered is therefore aimed at improving the ability to express oneself, which often is not developed sufficiently when studying for exams. However, it becomes essential in the final stages of one's career (thesis) and even more so when at work.
Prerequisites and basic notions
Students of the fourth and fifth year - Degree in Law
Program
Expressive skills are divided into two categories: written and oral. Particular attention will be paid to the written elaboration and presentation of legal concepts, which are not traditionally given much space in the degree programme, which favours oral examinations. With regard to oral communication, the aim is to develop both public speaking skills and the ability to address “non-expert” interlocutors (e.g. clients), including the ethical aspects of communication.
1) Introduction: general aspects of the relationship between law and language .
2) Legal writing: description of facts or situations from judgments or images. Construction of abstracts from articles and papers, construction of texts with a limited number of characters.
3) Oral communication: public speaking techniques for presenting legal discourse, individual communication techniques.
4) Ethics in communication
