Learning objectives
The CISPELS 2026 Summer School aims to address one of the most complex and fascinating problems in the history of linguistic and philosophical thought: the origins of human language. The topic is explored from a highly interdisciplinary perspective, intertwining the history of ideas, theoretical linguistics, philosophy, evolutionary biology, neuroscience, and cognitive science, with the aim of conveying the historical depth and theoretical complexity of a question that continues to challenge contemporary linguistic sciences.
