Learning objectives
Knowledge and Understanding. 1. Know and understand the problems, theories, processes, meanings, and protagonists of the educational relationship. 2. Distinguish and clearly understand the meaning of the concepts: educability, education, and pedagogy. 3. Understand the epistemological and methodological-didactic aspects of General Pedagogy. 4. Comprehend the foundational concepts of pedagogical discourse and the interdisciplinary nature of pedagogy. 5. Identify, in concrete terms, the theoretical and methodological elements essential for constructing educational projects. 6. Know and understand the law and the various areas of educational intervention, including professional opportunities in the field of early childhood educational services. Ability to Apply Knowledge and Understanding: 1. Employ pedagogical knowledge and its multiple currents of thought in various areas of educational intervention. 2. Recognize and be able to apply the foundational elements of educational intervention: objectives, methods, means, content, educator-learner relationship, environment. 3. Implement educational projects in the field of early childhood educational services, taking into account the diversity of individual educational situations. 4. Be able to translate the theoretical reference criteria of pedagogy into the capacity for educational intervention in interpersonal and group contexts. 5. 1. Educational challenges in contemporary society:
- Need for education and pedagogy.
- political, work, and cultural changes and crises;
- placement of pedagogy among the sciences of education;
- various sectors of pedagogical intervention.
2. Centrality of pedagogy and education in contemporary society:
- educability, education, and pedagogy;
- founding concepts of pedagogical discourse and the interdisciplinary nature of pedagogy;
- formal elements of pedagogy: purpose, method, means, contents, educator-student relationship, environment.
3. Educational professions and pedagogical training:
- Role of the professional educator and the pedagogist according to L 205 of 2017;
- Contents and objectives of the various pedagogical teachings;
- Pedagogical currents: pedagogical personalism, problematicism, empiricism;
- Pedagogical responses to the challenge of pluralism and complexity.

Didactic methods
Classroom lessons include the use of lectures, group discussions, and exercises in small groups. To prepare for the exam, students must use the following texts.
Learning assessment procedures
Details on the teaching and assessment methods of learning will be communicated at the beginning of the lessons. The exam aims to verify that students have achieved the level of knowledge of the contents outlined in the program and have acquired the skills outlined in the previously indicated objectives. The exam consists of an oral questioning on all the study texts.
Evaluation criteria
Understanding and knowledge of the topics through lectures and exam texts (online notes are not enough to acquire such knowledge; it is necessary to study from textbooks).
In particular, the following will be assessed: the critical-reflective capacity regarding the concepts and theories presented, the use of appropriate pedagogical language, and the ability to connect theories and concepts to practical hypotheses. Oral interview of approximately 15'. The texts to be studied are the same for attending and non-attending students, as well as for Erasmus students.
