Learning objectives

Knowledge and understanding 1. To know and understand the essential lines of the history of pedagogy, with specific reference to the modern and contemporary age, through the analysis of the thought and work of the most significant authors. 2. To know and understand the historical dimension of the themes and models of education, through the reading of pages of classical and contemporary works in the history of pedagogy. Applying knowledge and understanding 1. To recognize the most important educational issues and problems that emerge from the historical-pedagogical point of view during the modern and contemporary age and grasp its relevance. 2. To identify some particularly complex and problematic educational situations and compare them with similar current situations. 3. To present the historical evolution of educational institutions created to care for people (children, young people or adults), in situations of hardship, marginalization and disability.

General historical knowledge of the period between the 18th and 20th centuries

Learning assessment procedures

The exam will be held at the end of the course according to the official exam schedule. It will consist of a written test. It will last 1.5 hours. Students with learning disabilities may take the oral exam. The written test will include three open-ended questions: one for each text in the syllabus. To pass, answers must not contain serious errors or significant gaps.

Students with disabilities or specific learning disorders (SLD), who intend to request the adaptation of the exam, must follow the instructions given HERE

Evaluation criteria

The final grade will be determined by taking into account: - Presence or absence of errors or inaccuracies - Completeness of the answer - Accuracy of historical vocabulary - Understanding of the complexes of pedagogical theory - Richness or poverty of specific historical references - Correctness of the Italian language

Criteria for the composition of the final grade

The final grade (out of thirtieths) will be derived from the average of the scores obtained for each answer.
