Program

This four-day workshop, facilitated by a Jewish and a Palestinian expert from the School for Peace, invites Italian university students to explore identity-based conflict through the lens of the Israeli-Palestinian experience. The program connects lessons from this conflict to social and political challenges in Italy, fostering dialogue, critical thinking, and political imagination.
Structure
1. Day 1: Identity and Conflict

○ Lecture on identity-based dialogue and the role of power in conflicts.
○ Small-group discussions on participants’ identities and connections to global issues.
2. Day 2: Political Imagination Workshop

○ Creative sessions to envision solutions to conflicts, applying lessons to Italian challenges.
3. Day 3: Terminology and Power

○ Workshop on how language shapes conflict narratives.
○ Dialogue on terms like “justice,” “occupation,” and their relevance to Italy.
4. Day 4: Relating Global and Local Issues

Didactic methods

The workshop will be conducted using laboratory methods, including role-playing, group work, and theatrical techniques from the theater of the oppressed.

Learning assessment procedures

Eligibility will be given to people who participate in all meetings, actively, carrying out the assigned activities and tasks and following the given instructions.
