Learning objectives
During the course the student will learn the basics of molecular biology which include:
-structure and topology of DNA and different classes of RNA
- Organization of DNA and RNA in the eukaryotic and prokaryotic cell
-Duplication, replication and transcription of DNA in prokaryotes and eukaryotes
- RNA: maturation and splicing
- From RNA to proteins: translation of RNA, genetic code, protein synthesis in prokaryotes and eukaryotes
- Introduction on the regulation of gene expression
- Overview on techniques of molecular biology
