• Understand the epidemiology (risk and mode of transmission), clinical picture, and preventive options of
main emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases at global level with particular focus at national level
• Integrate this knowledge with the development of a clinical infectious disease research protocol
• Evaluate the quality of scientific evidence in the field of emerging infectious diseases
• Understand the basic therapeutic measures in the field of infectious diseases
