Learning objectives
General Introduction.
The course aims at providing a comprehensive knowledge of the most advanced regulatory solutions that private and business law offer for the regulation of the new situations arising from the use of technologies, with specific regard to security and intelligence profiles. At the end of the course, the student should be able to analyse and address the main issues of private and business law that arise with regard to these profiles in the digital society. The aim of the course is to mature the student's ability to independently employ the notions learned in order to argue suitable answers to the specific cases submitted to his/her judgement.
The course consists of the fol-lowing two courses:

The course, after recalling, as far as relevant, the fundamentals of the discipline of obligations and contracts, as well as the relevant institutes of personal data protection, aims to provide students with advanced knowledge of the rules on the processing, circulation and transfer of personal data in today's information society. The basic principles of data processing (in particular, accountability), the protections and rights of the data subject and the rules on data security will be specifi-cally examined, also with a view to remedies, taking into account the risks (including data breaches), as well as the main tools to govern them, and the most relevant vulnerabilities (incapacitated, minors, elderly).
Law of the business and the technologies applied to business
The course, after recalling, as far as relevant, the fundamentals of the discipline of the firm and of the business organizations, aims to provide students with advanced knowledge on the impact of the new technologies in business and company law. In particular, will be specifically examined the law of start up companies, the role of the organizational structure of the company and the impact on such structure of the privacy law, the importance of the corporate compliance in developing the tech-nologies applied to business, the impact of the rules and regulations related to AI processes on the development of company law (so called Corptech).
