Learning objectives

The course aims to introduce students to the topics of wine supply chain management, trade, consumer behavior, and marketing of wine and alcoholic beverages.
Supply Chain
The study of supply chains aims to outline approaches and methodologies for analyzing physical, informational, and financial flows between supply chain operators to understand their structure, interactions, and opportunities, and to support the adoption of effective strategic decisions.
International Trade
The study of international trade aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of global wine markets, combining theoretical analysis with empirical data on trade flows. This approach examines the dynamics of international wine markets, the impact of protectionism and trade liberalization, the role of trade agreements, and the features of major wine-importing countries.
Consumer
The consumer study aims to explore purchasing and consumption behavior following a multidisciplinary approach (psychological, sociological, anthropological, economic) that analyzes the interconnected factors influencing consumer decisions: from product perception to needs and purchase motivations, to values and attitudes.
Marketing
The marketing study aims to provide knowledge about the strategic marketing operational schemes adopted by agri-food companies, from raw material production to final distribution, including industrial processing, with particular attention to the formulation of marketing mix strategies (brand, price, and communication).
