Learning objectives
This course aims to present law as a social phenomenon, highlighting that it should not be seen solely as a matter of power. This perspective will be examined through reflections and discussions on key issues, drawing from various fields such as philosophy, history, politics, literature, and cinema.
Prerequisites and basic notions
The student must have passed the Philosophy of Law examination.
Program
The course is divided into two parts.
In the general part, attention will be focused on the essence of the legal phenomenon, underlining in it a continuous attempt to ‘formalise’ and guide social experience.
In the special part, focusing on sociological-criminal themes, deviance will be revealed as a rhetorical-legal construction that finds its referent in the ‘living’ society.
