Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to deepen some themes of the Legal and Forensic Medicine, in this making use of direct experiences of the students in the laboratory, in the surgery and in the dissecting room of the Institute of Legal Medicine - Policlinico GB Rossi of Insurance Borgo Roma.
Moreover, it is also provides court simulations in which students will face judicial argumentation relating to the relevance of forensic medical evidence

The Legal Medicine as an interpreter of the medical and biological norms:
Euthanasia, end of life, aggressive care and palliative care
Medical experimentation
Legal obligation: good practice
The obligations toward patients jailed, prison compatibility
Voluntary sterilization
Organ transplants
Criteria for Ascertaining death
Individual identification and Paternity testing by DNA typing
The General and Special Pathology of forensic interest:
Applications in the living (physical aspects of semiotics and diagnostic imaging, with elective interest in the consequences of cerebral trauma skull and vertebral medullary) and in the corpse, including those relating to thanatological inferences (thanatos-chrono-diagnosis).
The individual identification in the living, the dead body.
The doctor's liability for fault (clinical cases, expert opinions and case law up to date).
Crimes against the life and personal integrity: murder and personal injury.
The assessment and evaluation of the damage to the person, in particular in the RC Auto.
The contribution of the legal medicine consultancy in Social Insurance and Private Insurance

Examination Methods
Oral examination. Students' knowledge in the medico-legal field will be evaluated, as well as their ability to analyze and correctly establish the circumstances of forensic interest.
