Learning objectives
Students will learn to read and date major Greek book writings from the 4th B.C. to the 14th s.
Prerequisites and basic notions
Knowledge of ancient Greek at the high school level is required.
Program
Theoretical basis; transcription and paleographical commentary of reproductions from papyri and medieval Greek manuscripts (IV a.C. - XV c.).
Consultation and practice material will be distributed in photocopies during the course, or uploaded on the Moodle platform.

Didactic methods
The seminars will be held in presence.
Students are required to attend at least 2/3 of class sessions.
Learning assessment procedures
The examination will consist of a discussion of a transcription with paleographic commentary of a reproduction of a manuscript page.
Evaluation criteria
Ability to transcribe and date a Greek writing.
