Learning objectives
1) Basic course: introduction to the ancient Greek language, starting from the alphabet.
2) Intermediate course: continuation with completion of the morphology of the name.
3) Advanced course: review of basic grammar through reading of selected passages by the author.
Prerequisites and basic notions
No prerequisites for the elementary level; the elementary level is a prerequisite for the intermediate one; for the advanced level the prerequisite is to have attended the classical high school.
Program
1) Basic course: I-II declension, beginning III declension, I class of adjectives, the present of thematic and athematic verbs, the imperfect; remarkable lexicon.
2) Intermediate course: completion of the III declension and the II class of adjectives, contracted verbs, etc.
3) Review of the present theme and the verbal theme, the other tenses of the verb, etc.
Didactic methods
Attendance is compulsory for at least two thirds of the lessons. For the basic and intermediate levels, the exercises of a classical high school text will be used; for the advanced level, original passages of classical authors will be read, analyzed and translated; they will made available through the laboratory's online page.
Learning assessment procedures
Written exam in person at the end of the course.
Evaluation criteria
The outcome of the exam will not be given in marks but through a judgment: approved or not approved.
