Learning outcomes

The goal of the advanced course of Medieval History is to guide the student to critical analysis of historical sources and to develop his ability to analyze a historical problem in its complexity. The theme chosen is as follows: "An italian town in Middle Ages. The case study of Verona"

Examination Methods

Oral examination. The student must be able to critically expose his / her assessment of some problems in the political, social, cultural and economic history of the Italian rural world in the Middle Ages. The evaluation can take into account written texts produced during the course.
Knowledge of the volume "Agricultural contracts and labor relations in medieval Europe" [Contratti agrari e rapporti di lavoro nell'Europa medievale] edited by Montanari, Cortonesi and Nelli) is expected, as well as a textbook that will be promptly made available by the teacher. Non-attending students will have to agree on an additional reading.

La frequenza non è obbligatoria.
