Academic calendar
The academic calendar shows the deadlines and scheduled events that are relevant to students, teaching and technical-administrative staff of the University. Public holidays and University closures are also indicated. The academic year normally begins on 1 October each year and ends on 30 September of the following year.

Learning outcomes
This course’s aim is to offer a suitable knowledge of the formal and historical elements of ancient Greek literature (shapes, models, relation with contemporary society: classic and hellenistic period) through readings, commentary and a direct analysis of the texts, approached in the original language.
Program
Prerequisite: The knowledge of the ancient Greek is a required condition. The Faculty provides beginners’ classes since the first year for students without this prerequisite.
Content:
(1) Ancient Greek literature: from the 5th century B.C. to the Hellenistic period.
(2) Sophocles’ Ajax.
