Learning outcomes

The main aim of this course, which is part of the Bachelor's degree in Languages and Cultures for Tourism and International Commerce, is to provide the acquisition by students of an appropriate knowledge of Spanish Culture, with particular attention to the historical, geographic and anthropological fields. At the end of the course students will be expected to acquire:
- knowledge and comprehension skills: in-depth knowledge of the Spanish Culture of the period planned, as well as its historical, geographic and anthropological fields.
- “Applied” knowledge and comprehension skills: students will acquire the necessary methodologies to understand complex and quite long texts, as well as implied meanings.

History of the Second Republic, Franco dictatorship, democratic transition. The Avant-garde Literature, the 27th Generation, the novel. Introduction to Contemporary Women's Novel: Panorama on Novel written by women writers in the Second Half of the Twentieth Century.

Reading two romances at your choice among the list

Program for NON-ATTENDING students: History of the Second Republic, the Francoist dictatorship, the democratic Transition. The literature of the Avant-garde, the Generation of '27, the female novel in the second half of the twentieth century. Texts: ONLY chapters 8, 9 and 10 of the manual Las épocas de la literatura española, Madrid, Ariel and the material loaded in the E-LEARNING PLATFORM.
Reading two novels chosen from Ana María Matute (1925-2014): Paraíso inhabitado (2008); Carmen Martín Gaite (1925-2000): Lo rare es vivir (1996); Dulce Chacón (1954-2003): La voz dormida (2002); Ángeles Caso (1959 -): Contra el viento (2009); Rosa Montero (1951-): Temblor (1990) Belén Gopegui (1963-): Fuera de la burbuja (2017); Sara Mesa (1976-): Cicatriz (2015).
The exam for NON ATTENDING students is oral on the whole program.

Examination Methods

For attending students, there are two partial written tests (open questions and multiple-choice tests). One during the term on the first part of the program (General Part ) and one at the end (Introduction to Contemporary Female Novel. Reading two novels). The final oral exam will allow you to discuss the results and fill the gaps.
For non-attending students and for attending students who have not obtained good notes in partials, the final oral exam will cover the whole course program.
Both partial tests and oral exam are aimed at verifying the property of language, the ability to analyze and argue, and the depth of acquired knowledge. The tests take place in Italian or in Spanish, at the choice of the student.

Students with disabilities or specific learning disorders (SLD), who intend to request the adaptation of the exam, must follow the instructions given HERE

Stage e tirocini

Nel piano didattico della laurea triennale in Lingue per il turismo e il commercio internazionale (L12) è previsto un periodo di stage obbligatorio (CFU 6) in organizzazioni imprenditoriali.

Le attività di stage sono finalizzate a far acquisire allo studente una conoscenza diretta in settori di particolare interesse per l’inserimento nel mondo del lavoro e per l’acquisizione di abilità professionali specifiche.
Le attività di stage sono svolte sotto la diretta responsabilità di un singolo docente presso studi professionali, enti della pubblica amministrazione, aziende accreditate dall’Ateneo veronese.
I crediti maturati in seguito ad attività di stage saranno attribuiti secondo quanto disposto nel dettaglio dal “Regolamento d’Ateneo per il riconoscimento dei crediti maturati negli stage universitari” vigente.
