Learning outcomes
Introduction to English Linguistics: Focus on Phonetics, Phonology and Morphology
The course provides an introduction to the study of English Linguistics with special reference to phonetics, phonology and morphology. By the end of the course, students will have knolwledge of the main historical events that led to the development of the English language as we know it today and will able to carry out phonological analyses of the language and distinguish among some of the main varieties. Moreover, they will have awareness of the most productive morphological processes in the English lexicon.

Examination Methods
Written exam with questions and exercises. The exam lasts 2 hours.
Students may sit for the exam, starting from the first summer session (June-July). The final mark is comprehensive of the CLA Certification and will be registered after completing the various parts of the exam.
Prerequisites: English B2 level.
