Learning outcomes

------------------------
MM: SOCIOLOGIA SC (I)
------------------------
The course aims to explore: 1. the correlation between society and knowledge 2. the relationship between subject and society, highlighting how the two parties co-participate in the construction of reality and thus overcoming the holistic approach (Emile Durkheim) and the individualist approach (Max Weber) 3. the close relationship between individuals, social structure and culture The monographic part will deepen the concept of material culture, above all the symbolic and communicative function that today's objects take. This second part will study food, as a specific case of cultural object that mediates and realizes tastes, values, relationships and dynamics in society.
------------------------
MM: SOCIOLOGIA DEI PROCESSI CULTURALI(P)

Expected skills At the end of the course, the student have to demonstrate: 1. to use the concept of culture as defined in the various interpretations; 2. to know the mean of "cultural process" in relation to post-modern societies, with particular reference to complex western societies; 3. to know how to evaluate the links between knowledge, culture, identity and communication as processes, both in the individual and in the collective dimension, also through an approach that recognizes the determinant of diversity as constituency of everyday life; 4. to know different sociological theories on communication studies; 5. to know the fundamental stages of American journalism.

MM: SOCIOLOGIA SC (I)
------------------------
The exam provides for a written test The exam will test the exam texts included in the program
------------------------
MM: SOCIOLOGIA DEI PROCESSI CULTURALI(P)
------------------------
Two alternative assessment methods are proposed, among which the student can choose. 1. "Traditional" mode: - Production of a written text on open questions starting from the recommended texts. 2. "Step" mode: - first step: production of a written text starting from the reflection and personal re-elaboration of the contents proposed in the classroom (in itinere); - second step: production of a written work and a multimedia production to be presented publicly in the classroom on occasions dedicated to a topic related to the sociology of culture and which do not directly form the curricular contents of the course; - third step: oral examination on specific parts of the program. In both cases, the final evaluation derives from the average of the results obtained in each test.
