Academic calendar
The academic calendar shows the deadlines and scheduled events that are relevant to students, teaching and technical-administrative staff of the University. Public holidays and University closures are also indicated. The academic year normally begins on 1 October each year and ends on 30 September of the following year.

Learning outcomes
The course wants to offer a knowledge of the structures and the development of Italian language, as a basis for its aware use in the field of communication. In particular the course aims to the understanding of the peculiarities of Italian, in its history and its present use, with special attention to the dialectic between national language and dialects, written and spoken language, standard and usage varieties, history of language and history of culture and society, within the framework of the other European languages and in its relation to mass media. By the end of the course, students should have acquired a critical knowledge of the communicational articulations and structural limits of Italian.
Program
Contents of the course: elements of Italian grammar and introductive general notions related to the history of the Italian language.
