Learning outcomes

In this course, students get familiarized with the diverse aspects of innovation processes in organizations. Students will increase their knowledge about the performance of individual employees using state-of-the-art developments in the field of Work and Organizational Psychology. This course is aimed at teaching students how to apply work and organizational psychology theoretical knowledge in order to enhance innovation and creativity in the workplace.

Program

This course provides students with an understanding of how individual and situational factors interact in influencing innovation, creativity, and performance. It is made up of plenary lectures and a small group assignment. For the small group assignment, students will chose a topic that they want to study more in depth from the list of topics provided by the course lecturers. They will work together on the assignment in small groups.
Topics include amongst others: job design, goal setting interventions and team performance, and top-down and bottom-up job redesign interventions.
