Didactic methods

The teaching methods consist of lectures that describe the structural elements of Italian and trace its historical path. Specific insights are dedicated to conceptual issues, critical moments, intellectual debate on language. Particular attention is paid to arousing in students the awareness of their own skills as native speakers, favoring their active interventions and proposing surveys on single problems.
With regard to non-attending students, the teaching methods consist of a teacher's support for an updated study. Any further updates will be made available to the student in good time through the e-learning platform.
At the end of the course, the teacher will publish the analytical list of all the topics that will be examined on the e-learning platform.

Learning assessment procedures

The assessment of the learning outcomes includes a written test: 28 closed-ended questions, 2 open-ended questions.
For Erasmus students, the test takes the form of an oral exam. The teacher will clarify the contents and methods of the test in class.

Students with disabilities or specific learning disorders (SLD), who intend to request the adaptation of the exam, must follow the instructions given HERE

Evaluation criteria

Contents and methods of carrying out the assessment tests: The test covers all the topics of the program and is divided into two parts: • one part with 28 multiple choice questions, divided into groups relating to the various thematic areas of the course. • a part with 2 open-ended questions, which allow the student to deal with a problematic topic in an argued form.

Criteria for the composition of the final grade

For the part with multiple choice questions, 5 points are awarded for each correct answer, 0 points for each answer not given, minus 1 point for each incorrect answer. The sum of the scores thus achieved is then reduced into thirtieths. For the part with open-ended questions, up to a maximum of 3 points are awarded for each answer. The sum of the score of the two evaluations will form the final grade, expressed in thirtieths.
