Learning objectives

The "Business Communication" course is a specific area of the great framework that is Marketing. The topics, some of a propaedeutic type, typical of marketing, aim to introduce students to basic knowledge, characterized by a strong interdisciplinary nature, in order to allow a graduate in Communication Sciences to play the role of business communicator (responsible for the press office, responsible for internal and external communication, etc.) The purpose of the "Corporate Communication" path is to provide the students of the toolbox to promote and build the company’s reputation, through the possibility of dialogue with the numerous Agencies outside the company of: advertising, p.r., press and press office, merchandising, sales promotion, media monitoring, social media marketing, market research, only to list the most widespread.

Didactic methods

Teaching activities consist of lectures and discussions of business cases based on the experiences of entrepreneurs and managers.
Group work activities will also be conducted in the classroom. Teaching support:
Supplementary teaching materials will be uploaded to the course's Moodle platform. Students are encouraged to contact the instructor via email or during office hours.
Students who need to make up missed lessons should contact the instructor.

Learning assessment procedures

The exam consists of a written test consisting of five open-ended questions, with limited time for each answer. The exam covers the entire course syllabus and varies based on the prepared reading list (for attending and non-attending students).
The exam aims to assess the knowledge acquired and the ability to apply it to real-world situations.
Students with disabilities or specific learning disabilities (SLD) who wish to request an adaptation of the exam should follow the instructions provided by the University.

Evaluation criteria

The written exam is designed to assess:
- a general understanding of the subject,
- language proficiency,
- in-depth understanding of individual topics,
- the ability to connect topics (mental flexibility),
- the ability to engage in critical analysis,
- the ability to apply concepts to reality.

Criteria for the composition of the final grade

Final grade criteria: Each answer to the six questions is assigned a score from 0 to 6 points. The final grade is equal to the sum of the scores obtained for the five questions. To pass the exam, a grade of at least 18/30 is required.
