Academic calendar
The academic calendar shows the deadlines and scheduled events that are relevant to students, teaching and technical-administrative staff of the University. Public holidays and University closures are also indicated. The academic year normally begins on 1 October each year and ends on 30 September of the following year.

Learning outcomes
The course aims to provide knowledge of the basic constructs, theories and methodologies of Social Psychology which may be useful for those who want to pursue a career in communication.
This course will be structured in such a way as to provide students with useful tools to understand and interpret the social world as well as the possibility of reflecting on general and more specific aspects of social psychology. Specifically, this course aims to provide interpretations of the social world in order to develop individual reasoning. At the end of the course, students will be able to understand and apply these concepts.
A further aim of the course will be to develop students' abilities to describe, explain and interprete studies in the field.
Program
Course topics - Communication and persuasion - Groups and group interactions - Forms and sources of prejudice - Intergroup dynamics: conflict and conflict resolution – Aggressiveness - Pro-social behaviour - Social Psychology and Communication
In addition, further insights and scientific articles aimed at considering specific aspects associated not only to perception of the social world but also to communication will be presented and discussed.
Course method: Frontal lectures- during the course, materials will be discussed with students in order to stimulate connections between theories and real life experiences.

Examination Methods
The exam will be written and it will include multiple-choice and open-ended questions. For this type of questions the evaluation criteria include: relevance and richness of arguments and use of an appropriate language. The grades of the two modules will be averaged to obtain the final grade for the course “Social Psychology” (30 point scale).
The assessment methods and criteria will be the same for attending and non-attending students.
The exam will include the following materials: slides presented during the course and the materials provided in the reference section.
