Module: ANTROPOLOGIA CULTURALE

This course, designed for undergraduates, uses several teaching techniques and classrooms activities (lectures, ethnographic interviews, encounters with experts, ethnographic films) to introduce the students to a critical knowledge of key concepts, methods, tools of the discipline to decentralize one’s own gaze in approaching other forms of cultural and social life.


Module: STORIA DELLE ISTITUZIONI POLITICHE E SOCIALI

The classes are held in front, trying to identify issues and problems of history of Welfare State that form the basis of understanding of the European political contemporary processes.
The methods of teaching will be amplified by specific seminars. The aim is to shape group discussions involving students.

Module: ANTROPOLOGIA CULTURALE

The course will start with the notion of culture and work towards shedding light onto the notions of “boundaries” and “belonging”, of “inside/outside” in the light of the most recent anthropological debates on questions emerging from the dynamics of inclusion/exclusion in the contemporary world. The course will make use of relevant ethnographic case studies.

Module: STORIA DELLE ISTITUZIONI POLITICHE E SOCIALI

The course aims to provide a historical context on the construction of the welfare state, starting from the old regime up to the Bismarck’s reforms on 1883. We’ll analyze the origins of the Italian welfare state until Italian Fascism, placed in the context of early twentieth century European, and Welfare institutions and social policies of the European states.
During the second part of the course, that includes a series of seminar,some historical documents will be analyzed and discussed. The teamwork will provide students a minimum of problems for interpreting the history of the welfare state and social policies of Europe contemporary age.
