The course aims to provide students with the basic knowledge necessary to understand the functioning, management and direction of publishing businesses.

Program
The sustainable business system: founding principles.
The functions of the enterprise: the concept of enterprise, types of enterprises, the economic and meta-economic functions of the enterprise, income, profitability, and profit, the conditions for corporate profitability.
The context in which the enterprise operates: the immediate competitive and relational environment and the remote environment. The concept of stakeholders and the different types of stakeholders. The characteristics of the environment, environmental complexity and its determinants, how to operate in a complex environment. Market forms and barriers to market entry and exit.
The original production factors: knowledge, creativity, trust; capital and labor as derived production factors.
The entrepreneur and the birth of the enterprise: the defining traits of the entrepreneur, entrepreneurial goals, the phases of enterprise creation, and related resources.
Innovation and corporate creativity: terminological issues, types of innovation, corporate creativity and its dimensions, the main innovation paths within the enterprise.
How the enterprise is structured: institutional structure, value base, production apparatus, and organizational system.
The production function: production capacity, cost trends and sizing decisions, production process types, production location choices, production process implementation methods between integration and decentralization.

Didactic methods
Teaching is structured around lectures and discussions of business cases, including testimonials from entrepreneurs and managers.
Laboratory activities and group work are also included in the classroom.
Learning assessment procedures
The exam consists of a written test consisting of six open-ended questions, with limited space for each answer. The exam covers the entire course syllabus. The exam aims to assess the knowledge acquired and the ability to apply it to real-world situations.
For the final assessment, students will be asked to complete and present project work and participate in laboratory activities during the course.
Students with disabilities or specific learning disabilities (SLD) who wish to request an adaptation of the exam should follow the instructions provided by the University.
Evaluation criteria
The written test is aimed at ascertaining:
- the general vision of the discipline
- the mastery of the language
- the in-depth analysis of individual topics
- the ability to connect the topics (mental flexibility)
- the ability of critical analysis
- the ability to apply the concepts to reality
Criteria for the composition of the final grade
Each answer to the six questions in the written exam is assigned a score from 0 to 5 points. The final grade is equal to the sum of the scores obtained on the six questions. To pass the exam, a grade of at least 18/30 is required.
A score ranging from 1 to 4 points may be added to the positive written exam score for the completion and presentation of project work and participation in workshop activities offered during the course.
