Learning objectives
The workshop aims to provide theoretical knowledges and practical tools for the analysis and implementation of transmedia storytelling projects.
At the end of the course students will:
- acquire basic knowledges on transmedia storytelling;
- be able to identify and analyze cases of transmedia storytelling;
- develop useful skills for the creation of a final project.
Prerequisites and basic notions
No specific prerequisites required.
Program
Contents of the course:
1. Evolution of storytelling: theories and models (S. Chatman, G. Freytag, C. Vogler).
2. From intermediality towards transmedia storytelling.
3. Identification and analysis of transmedia storytelling principles.
4. Basics elements for the creation of a storytelling project.

Teaching methods:
Taught classes.
Multimedia contents and PowerPoint presentations will be proposed, and compulsory in-progress exercises will be assigned for the achievement of credits.
An integral part of the course will be the autonomous realization of a transmedia storytelling project, based on the indications provided in class, to be delivered by a set date.
Learning assessment procedures
Grading and transcript of record subject to delivery of the tasks assigned in itinere and of the final project by the established dates.
Attendance of at least 80% of the lessons is mandatory.
Evaluation criteria
Modalità di valutazione: approvato/non approvato.
