Academic calendar
The academic calendar shows the deadlines and scheduled events that are relevant to students, teaching and technical-administrative staff of the University. Public holidays and University closures are also indicated. The academic year normally begins on 1 October each year and ends on 30 September of the following year.

Learning outcomes
Providing the necessary knowledge to organize the printing of a text in relation to design intentions, editorial needs and production characteristics through the use of computer programs.
Program
Prerequisites: Creative, relationship-wise, proactive, research purposes.
Syllabus
1) Media & Materials:
sizes (iso,offset standards, sheet-fed, folding, trimming, signatures, sheets, leaves, pages, recto/verso, front/back); characteristics (composition, surface, colour, grammage, fibre, caliper); scopes (publishing, finishing, usage).
2) Printing & Binding:
technics (woodcut, tipography, rotogravure, copper engraving, lithography, offset, photography, xerography, silkscreen, relief printing, hot-stamping); characteristics (line engraving, half-tone, four-color process, duplex, pantone, varnishing, films, plates, inks); assembling (staple, twist-stitching binding, perfect binding, hardback, slipcover, endpapers, slipcases, overlapping, millennial binding, outside-text tables, excerpts).
3) Graphics & Design:
writing (lettering, stylistic classification, technical classification); composition (body size, leading, justify, weight, width, slope, orthography, sets, glyphs, kerning); layout (project, grids, roughs, elements, disposition).
4) Editing & Proofreading:
texts (originals, reviews, galley proofs, collations, translations, editing, guides, drafts, diagrams, tables, units, indexes, whiteprints); figures (originals, clipping, bleeds, digital proofs, wet proofs, scanning, sampling, halftone screens, supervising, cuts, reproductions).
5) Tools & Media:
composition (photocomposition, typography, linotype, monotype); prepress (final layouts, assembling, imposition, desktop publishing, macintosh, quark xpress, adobe photoshop, adobe indesign, macromedia freehand).

After having standed an executive trial with Adobe InDesign on Mac OS, you'll gain admittance to a multiple choise test based on reference books of I Program or II Program, optionally.
