Academic calendar
The academic calendar shows the deadlines and scheduled events that are relevant to students, teaching and technical-administrative staff of the University. Public holidays and University closures are also indicated. The academic year normally begins on 1 October each year and ends on 30 September of the following year.

Learning outcomes
The course aims to provide the critical tools and technical-practical skills of journalism to analyze information on "cultural diversity"; and to produce journalistic texts on those issues.
Program
Subjects:
- Intercultural communication in the media
- Media and cultural diversity (immigration and the adoption of children in the media)
- Intercultural Journalism: theory and technique of journalism
- Crime, justice and media: focus on a judicial case between the substantial truth of the facts and their media representation
- Investigative Journalism: how to do investigative and investigative journalism in a judicial case
- Elements of web journalism and multimedia
Lessons will be delivered in this way:
- frontal lessons for the theoretical parts, with debate and interaction on the topics of the course
- assignment of the drafting of texts, including multimedia, aimed at the exam (term papers on texts in the bibliography, journalistic articles, mobile videos)
- case studies: a) in-depth study of the issue of the adoption of foreign children and its representation in the media; b) analysis of a judicial case, in its media implications (gap between substantial truth of the facts and narratives in the media)
- optional workshop, only on the adhesion of interested students, with two addresses: social and investigative journalism. Planned activity: research of documents, analysis of media productions, writing of journalistic texts for the web (on Wordpress platform)

Examination Methods
BIBLIOGRAPHY FOR THE EXAM
The bibliography is indicated by the teacher in the e-learning space to which female students and students are required to register. In that space the teacher also publishes notices and materials useful for the examination and learning.
METHOD OF EXAMINATIONThe exam is carried out in written mode with the drafting of texts.
- the objectives of the exam are two: to evaluate critical skills and written presentation on teaching topics;
- the exam program focuses on the topics covered by the course: media and immigration, intercultural journalism, adoption of children, crime and justice in the media with a focus on a judicial case;
- the assessment procedure consists of two term papers, three journalistic articles and two short mobile videos. A first essay is on the book in the bibliography dedicated to intercultural journalism. A second essay is in the book in the bibliography dedicated to the court case dealt with in class. Three journalistic articles are on parts of the book dedicated to the adoption of children. A short mobile video is dedicated to the book on the court case dealt with in class. A short video is dedicated to the book on the adoption of children;
- evaluation methods: score attributed to the entire test (term papers, articles and videos) with a mark out of thirty.
The examination procedures are the same for attending and non-attending students.
