Learning outcomes
The recent worldwide economic crisis has shown the importance of the monetary and financial systems for the good working of economies.
The aim of the course is to study the characteristics, the structure and the working of monetary and financial markets and institutions in order to better understand the economic phenomena occurring today in the world economy.
Program
1) Introductory macroeconomics topics: money and monetary markets; the IS-LM model, unemployment-inflation trade-off
2) Analysis of European Monetary Union and European Central Bank
3) Monetary policy
3) Financial intermediaries
