Learning outcomes
The course has the purpose to guide the Student through different clinical scenarios that are commonly associated to infectious syndromes in immunocompromised hosts. The Students will acquire the capability to critically approach patients with immune dysfunctions and recognise the main infections associated with different types of immune depression, plan the necessary diagnostic work up, and know the basis of the antimicrobial approach to this fragile population
Program
The classes will incorporate interactive cases discussion (possible also through online platforms e.g. Zoom). The topics will include the recognition of the main types of immune dysfunctions and the potential infections associated, as well as the clinical work up and the principles of antimicrobial therapy
