Smoking is still, despite warnings and laws "ad hoc" the leading cause of preventable death in our country quantifiable, in 2012, 77,000 deaths, a number of deaths about 16 times greater than the road accidents related deaths. Smoking cessation tends to be seen as a personal problem, linked to willpower alone. Smoking is an addiction like other instead, only legalized, and needs support and specific therapy. Despite the offer of treatment, only 5% of smokers Italian seek a doctor for help. Unfortunately, statistics tell us that the self-efforts tend to fail in 80% of cases within the first week. Every doctor, every operator of health must do its part. It is up to individual operators, not only to specialists of the surgery of the smoke, make good ideas everyday practices.
