Learning outcomes
The course explores key issues related to the mental health of people living in humanitarian settings, with particular emphasis to intervention strategies covering the treatment of mental disorders, but also preventative and promotion interventions in a public global health perspective. The course will present the scientific terminology currently used to define the most prevalent psychological conditions in humanitarian settings, and the evidence on the effectiveness of treatment and preventative interventions in children and adults. These contents will be summarized within a clinical framework, including the production and use of international evidence-based guidelines.
