Learning outcomes
The student will be able to: apply fixed appliances; design removable devices; bend correctly individual stainless steel archwires and I, II, III order plies; perform lingual retainers to restrain and fix teeth; make soldering brazing; remove fixed orthodontic appliances.
Program
To recognize the deviations from the normality, once the basic concepts of growth and normal development of the occlusion and the maxillofacial complex have been understood.
To diagnose the different malocclusions, acquiring independent judgment in framing and differentiating them about needs, priorities for intervention and therapeutic implications, both in the growing subject that in adults.
To acquire specific skills in the field of prevention of the malocclusion and interception of those forms of dysgnathia eligible for early treatment or spontaneous resolution.
To assimilate the therapeutic procedures for orthodontic correction of minor occlusal problems.
To recognize the opportunity to refer the patient to other professionists in the presence of more complex diseases.
