Academic calendar
The academic calendar shows the deadlines and scheduled events that are relevant to students, teaching and technical-administrative staff of the University. Public holidays and University closures are also indicated. The academic year normally begins on 1 October each year and ends on 30 September of the following year.

Learning outcomes
The course provides a basic knowledge of the LaTeX typesetting system. At the end of the course the studenti will be able to typeset technical documents such as course paperworks or theses.
Knowledge and understanding: students will know the basics of the language and the way the system works.
Applying knowledge and understanding: the students will be able to employ additional packages.
Making judgements: the students will be able to choose among the various techniques the one better suited to the problem at hand.
Communication skills: the students will be able to describe the syntax of the used commands.
Learning skills: the students will be able to widen their knowledge starting from what they learned.

Introduction to the TeX/LaTeX system.
Basic notions on typography.
Differences between LaTeX e other word processing systems.

Examination Methods
Preparation of a LaTeX document with all necessary elements: chapters, sections, tables of contents, examples of mathematical formulas, tables and figures.

Attendance modes and venues
As stated in the Teaching Regulations, attendance at the course of study is not mandatory.

The course's teaching activities take place in the Science and Engineering area, which consists of the buildings of Ca‘ Vignal 1, Ca’ Vignal 2, Ca' Vignal 3 and Piramide, located in the Borgo Roma campus.
Lectures are held in the classrooms of Ca‘ Vignal 1, Ca’ Vignal 2 and Ca' Vignal 3, while practical exercises take place in the teaching laboratories dedicated to the various activities.
