Course of study in brief
PROGRAMME OVERVIEW AND OBJECTIVES
The Degree Programme is designed to provide students with the ability to interpret and understand management processes in the healthcare sector, to deepen their knowledge of the ethical and professional issues related to rehabilitation professions, and to develop up-to-date scientific knowledge.
Throughout the programme, students acquire conceptual and methodological models for evidence-based rehabilitation research, educational planning skills, and competencies in team management through the application of psychological and sociological frameworks. They also develop expertise in teaching and tutoring, which can be applied in educational settings and pedagogical mentoring.
The programme aims to prepare professionals capable of assuming leadership roles in rehabilitation services within public, private, and accredited healthcare organizations, as well as managing innovative projects and educational initiatives based on clinical and organizational developments in the field of rehabilitation.
The programme includes professional laboratory activities, the development of project work, and two internship experiences carried out in facilities accredited and affiliated with the National and Regional Health Service, research institutes, private Italian and international organizations and centres, universities, and centres of excellence. These experiences enable students to contextualize and apply the knowledge acquired during their studies.
CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
The programme is designed to train professionals with expertise in the leadership, management, and development of healthcare and social care services involving rehabilitation professionals, as well as in the management of research projects, teaching activities, tutoring, and educational programme design.
Graduates may also access the role of Coordinator of Degree Programmes within the same academic field and degree class.
FROM BACHELOR'S DEGREE TO MASTER'S DEGREE
Admission to the programme is subject to a limited number of places and a selection process. Applicants must hold a Bachelor's Degree or a three-year University Diploma qualifying for professions belonging to the degree class L-SNT/2 (Health Professions for Rehabilitation) or an equivalent qualification.
The Professional Education Coordinator is Dr Laura Furri.
Ongoing Academic Tutoring
Throughout the two-year Master's Degree Programme, students are required to apply managerial, professional, educational, and research methodologies within their specific field through internships, placements, and project-based activities. The internship experience aims to provide students with opportunities to develop the competencies expected of graduates of the Master's Degree Programme.
Internships take place at external institutions affiliated with the University of Verona in accordance with current legislation.
For laboratory and internship activities, the Programme Director is supported by one or two faculty members appointed as University Internship Tutors. These tutors are responsible for coordinating internship and laboratory activities and for formally recording the completion of such activities.
University Internship Tutors must belong to one of the professional profiles included in the degree class of the Master's Degree Programme and must hold a Specialist or Master's Degree in the relevant field.
University Internship Tutors organize and supervise laboratory and internship activities with the support of Professional Tutors, who are selected from accredited internship sites among professionals with expertise in clinical, managerial, organizational, or educational areas.
Tutorial activities are designed to support students in preparing for, reflecting on, and consolidating their learning experiences. Some activities are scheduled, including briefing and debriefing sessions with the presentation and discussion of project reports, while others are arranged individually by students through meetings with their tutors.
To obtain the academic credits assigned to internship activities, students must submit an internship project to the University Tutor. The project must include learning objectives, strategies based on the opportunities offered by the internship site, tools and theoretical prerequisites required to prepare for the experience, assessment and supervision methods, and the start and end dates of the placement.
Each internship experience concludes with the preparation of a final report and a learning diary.
At the end of each academic year, a committee chaired by the University Tutor and composed of two faculty members and representatives of the Professional Tutors from the internship sites assesses and certifies the level of learning achieved through laboratory and internship activities. The committee awards a final mark expressed on a scale of thirty points and may require the presentation and discussion of projects and reports as part of the assessment process.
