Academic calendar
The academic calendar shows the deadlines and scheduled events that are relevant to students, teaching and technical-administrative staff of the University. Public holidays and University closures are also indicated. The academic year normally begins on 1 October each year and ends on 30 September of the following year.

Learning outcomes
-To understand the meaning of "translational research" and learn basic knowledge for writing a research proposals in the context of rehabilitation medicine.
Program
The program is to:
- Understand the meaning of "translational research" in the context of rehabilitation medicine.
- Understand the resources needed to implement the EBP in clinical practice.
- Discriminate the different models for the application of EBP.
- Understand the research questions in clinical studies.
- Discriminate between experimental and non-sperimetal research.
- Discuss the historical phases of ethics codes.
- Discuss possible ethical issues in research and clinical practice.
- Discuss the three ethics principle listed in the Belmont's report and related implications for clinical practice.
- Identify the procedures for submitting research protocols to the Ethic committees.
- Describe how to formulate a research question.
- Describe the framework and aims of quantitative research project.
- Descrive the meaning of research hypothesis and discriminate among the different typologies (directional Vs non-directional).
- Describe the study designs of a quantitative study.
- Identify the methods to control bias and confounding factors.
- Understand the factor that may compromise the validity of quantitative studies.
- Critical evaluation of design, methods and variables in a quantitative study.
- Discriminate between probabilistic and non-probabilist sampling and understand advantages and disadvantages.
- Evaluate the appropriateness of sampling methods e the sample size used in a study.
- Describe the different modalities to gather data in the clinical research (self-reports, questionnaires).
- Describe the psychometric characteristics of measures (clinical scales) such as reliability, validity, responsiveness.
- Describe the quality of instrumental measurements.
- Understand the statistical analysis employed in research studies (i.e. descriptive analysis parametric, non parametric test, ANOVA, t-test..).

Attività seminariali/a scelta dello studente
La Commissione Didattica organizza l'offerta di attività didattiche opzionali, realizzabili con lezioni, seminari, corsi interattivi a piccoli gruppi, tirocini fra i quali lo studente esercita la propria personale opzione, fino al conseguimento di un numero complessivo di 6 CFU.
Le attività formative a scelta dello studente si concludono con un esame, che, in quanto tale, concorre al completamento delle certificazioni di profitto requisito per accedere all'esame finale.
Il materiale didattico relativo alle suddette attività didattiche saranno messe a disposizione nello spazio moodle riservato allo stage.
Appelli d'esame
Potranno chiedere di fare l’esame di profitto o di laurea a distanza solo le studentesse e gli studenti in isolamento in quanto positivi al SARS-CoV-2. La richiesta dovrà essere fatta inviando al docente il modulo allegato
