Learning objectives
The placement during the training course is the privileged and irreplaceable way to learn the professional role through active experimentation. The quality of the internship depends on the continuous interaction of the practical experience with theoretical reflection. Practical activity aims to: promote and integrate theoretical and practical knowledge; develop technical, educational and relational skills; promote direct knowledge of experiential areas, as well as critical reflection on the operational modalities observed.
Prerequisites and basic notions
attendance at theoretical lessons and laboratories
Program
The internship will take place in a clinical setting in accredited hospital and territorial facilities. The 1st year student will develop the following objectives • Carry out a complete and accurate assessment of the physical, emotional and social dimension for the evaluation and monitoring of patients' needs using interviews, observation, objective examinations, and the detection of vital parameters. • Safely carry out care interventions, primarily: active and passive mobilization and positioning, comfort interventions, meal assistance, oral care, prevention of pressure sores, support for self-care deficits, constipation, malnutrition, dehydration, non-pharmacological interventions for pain. • Implement care techniques in a safe manner by applying recommendations for one's own safety and that of the patient: standard precautions, sterile material, use of electromedical devices and chemical substances (disinfectants), handling of loads with ergonomic techniques • Experiment with care techniques under supervision, primarily detecting vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, SatO2, body temperature) positioning and transfers of bed and chair with and without walking aids, micro-enema and enteroclysm, venous sampling, bladder catheter. • Act out the first elements of a professional relationship by adopting attitudes that encourage listening, contact and closeness with the user.
