The academic calendar shows the deadlines and scheduled events that are relevant to students, teaching and technical-administrative staff of the University. The course aims to develop a problem-oriented approach to the selection of prevention and management interventions of changes in patient's ability of body care, respiratory function and urinary and intestinal function, and the multidimensional assessment of pain. The student will develop the ability: to collect and interpret data in order to recognize alterations to the main organic functions, the patient's functional status and identify the main needs and problems associated with them; to select interventions aimed at managing the main needs / welfare problems consistent with the causes that have determined them; to identify useful data to evaluate the effectiveness of management interventions.

The course introduces the student to the basic concepts of major diseases and the fundamental pathogenetic processes correlate to cell changes, the organ function, homeostatic mechanisms, and clinical manifestations of disease. It proposes the study of the basic principles of pharmacology, in particular pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamics mechanisms and introduces the student to understand and assess the benefit and risk profile of medicines. It proposes to develop in the student an approach oriented to the definition of the problems, the choice of prevention interventions and alterations management of respiratory function and elimination, the recognition and multidimensional assessment of pain.

Urinary function: The process of diuresis and urination. Assessment of urinary function and diagnostic procedures, characteristics of normality, signs and symptoms more frequent in urinary disorders. Care management of the main alterations of urinary elimination (for each problem we will analyze definition / classification, causes and risk factors, clinical signs and symptoms, interventions): o Urinary incontinence o Urinary retention o Urinary tract infections Bladder catheterization: indications for positioning, insertion procedure, treatment, removal and prevention of Catheter associated urinary tract infection (CAUTI). Objective examination: methods, head-to-foot evaluation concept. The objective examination of skin and appendages, thorax and lungs, abdomen, vascular system. Nursing process - the clinical nursing methodology: • Assessment: assessment methods, global assessment, problem-oriented assessment (hypothetical-deductive reasoning) • Problem identification: aggregate and interpret data, problem statement according to the method P.E.S. (Problem, Etiology, Signs and Symptoms) • Planning of interventions: prognostic reasoning, setting priorities, decision-making • Implementation of the interventions: the personalization of the interventions • Evaluation of expected results: surveillance, evaluation of the effectiveness

Body care: assessment of the ability of body care and management of body care impairment. Cleansing principles. Hygiene activities and care of the body in the bathroom or bedside. Oral hygiene. Bowel function: Assessment of bowel function and diagnostic procedures. Most common signs and symptoms in intestinal disorders. Assessment and management of: - constipation (with deepening of laxatives) - diarrhea - fecal incontinence Execution of enema. Incontinence associated dermatitis: - prevention - assessment and classification - treatement Respiratory function: general assessment and definition of major disfuntion. The management of oxygen therapy. Pain: pain patterns and pain classification, chronic and acute pain assessment methods. Pain as a multidimensional symptom, assessment tools.

Examination Methods

MM: Infermieristica clinica 1
------------------------
Written exam with closed questions with multiple choice answers and oral exam. The written exam consists of 20 questions that will cover the whole program of Clinical Nursing 1 and 2. The questions will be based on mini-cases / situations aimed to assess the level of acquisition of the theoretical contents and the ability of the student to apply such content to situations of clinical practice, e.g. interpretation of data in reference to alterations of the organic functions / nursing problems, select interventions for the management of problems, ... The written exam is passed if the student correctly answers 12 out of 20 questions. Access to the oral exam is limited to passing the written exam. The oral interview is aimed to evaluate the student's argumentative capacity in ordering one of the program's topics in a logical and clear manner and to appreciate the ability of clinical reasoning applied to situations of clinical practice related to the contents of the program

di seguito un promemoria relativo alle modalità di erogazione della didattica per il corso di studio A.A. 2021-2022 in Infermieristica (triennale) e Scienze Infermieristiche ed Ostetriche (LM).
Il 29 giugno 2021 il Senato Accademico ed il Consiglio di Amministrazione hanno approvato le Linee guida per l’erogazione della didattica dei corsi di studio A.A. 2021-2022, che prevedono il graduale ritorno all’erogazione della didattica in presenza (previa verifica GREEN PASS) affiancato da organizzazione logistica, modalità̀, metodologie e tecnologie didattiche già̀ adottate dallo scorso anno.
In considerazione della peculiarità del corso professionalizzante, che prevede la presenza obbligatoria sia per le lezioni frontali che numerosi laboratori pratici in presenza, si ricorda che non sarà possibile ottenere la frequenza richiesta solamente con la frequenza streaming o tramite lezioni registrate. La gestione delle presenze in aula/streaming verrà quindi garantita dai coordinatori, in un piano di presenze che dovrà essere seguito dallo studente.
Nei giorni in cui i coordinatori proporranno allo studente la frequenza in streaming si sottolinea l’importanza di avere il video acceso ed una postura ed un abbigliamento consono alla lezione universitaria. In mancanza di questi elementi, la frequenza non verrà conteggiata. La registrazione della lezione non potrà considerarsi come sostitutiva ma come elemento di supporto didattico. Non varrà quindi come frequenza.
Sperando che, anche grazie all’importantissima campagna vaccinale in corso, si possa tornare quanto prima ad una situazione pre-COVID-19, vi auguro buon lavoro!
