Learning outcomes



Understand and analyze the principles and methods to manage the administration of drug therapy in safety (from administration to monitoring to education to the patient), with a view to continuity in the patient's path, within the various care settings.
Know the main diagnostic / instrumental investigations and understand the relative welfare implications, in order to guarantee personal safety

Program

Safe administration of therapies (enteral, parenteral and topical).

Drug therapy related to meals and food (full and empty stomach).

Drug management in pre-postoperative and during diagnostic tests.

Crushing and pulverizing of drugs (in the dysphagic person and with a probe for enteral nutrition)

Calculation exercises applied to infusional and oral therapy.

Management of peripheral and central vascular catheters and major complications (phlebitis, occlusion, infiltration and extravasation).

Venous and arterial sampling by radial arterial blood gas analysis, capillary sampling.

Collection of samples for blood culture, co-culture, sputum, complete urine test and 24-hour urine collection.


Preparation and assistance for instrumental / diagnostic examinations for the person undergoing colonoscopy and bronchoscopy or for exams requiring contrast; resumption of feeding after gastroscopy or bronchoscopy.

Enteral nutrition (NE) via gastric nose tube (SNG) and percutaneous endoscopy gastrostomy (PEG) and total parenteral nutrition (NPT).

Educate the patient in therapy with oral anticoagulants.

Examination Methods

Written exam with closed questions with multiple choice answers and/or open questions with short answer.
The exam may include an oral interview to supplement the written test.
