The academic calendar shows the deadlines and scheduled events that are relevant to students, teaching and technical-administrative staff of the University. Public holidays and University closures are also indicated. The academic year normally begins on 1 October each year and ends on 30 September of the following year.

Learning outcomes

-knowledge of the general principles of occupational medicine: purposes, areas of competence, tools for the protection of health and safety;
- knowledge of the main legislation on the protection of health and safety at work; risk prediction and risk assessment;
- knowledge of the public system of prevention;
- knowledge of the concept of risk, damage and prevention ;
- knowledge of the main occupational risks to which nurses are exposed in order to be able to implement risk protection;
- deepening of the main risks to which health professionals are exposed: biological risk, physical risk, chemical and allergological risk, ergonomic risk from handling patients and loads, psycho-social risks, work-related stress and shift work;
- preventive and periodic health surveillance, suitability judgments
- knowledge of the main work-related pathologies and their possible impact, with particular reference to work fitness and rehabilitation

Program

Occupational health and safety

General principles of occupational medicine, protection, prevention and promotion of health and safety in the workplace.

Hazard, risk, classification of risk factors.

Work-related illnesses, work-related diseases, accidents at work.

General and specific legislation on health and safety in the workplace, with particular reference to health environments.

Figures and structures for the protection of health and safety at work. The Legislative Decree 81/2008 and subsequent amendments.

Risk assessment, health surveillance, individual susceptibility, judgment of suitability.

Preventive medicine of health workers:

- biological risk

- Chemical and allergological risk

- Physical risk

- Ergonomic risk: handling of loads and patients

- psychosocial factors: work-related stress; shift work.

Examination Methods

Written examination consisting of open-ended short-answer and multiple-choice questions with a single correct answer. Questions explore knowledge - understanding of concepts and knowledge applied to specific situations

La domanda di iscrizione part-time può essere presentata all'inizio di ogni anno accademico e comunque entro il 30 novembre di ogni anno. Entro lo stesso termine, se necessario, lo studente potrà richiedere di tornare al regime full-time.
